وكان ينبت على جانبي الجداول أنواع مختلفة من الحشائش التي كانت معظمها تستخدم كغذاء للحيوانات وبعضها الآخر مما كان يأكله الناس ، كما كانت تكثر فيها الضفادع الصغيرة الحجم والأسماك الصغيرة الحجم جداً كانت تسمى "حراسين"، ولا يخلو الأمر من بعض الفئران العادية منها والمائية التي كانت تتكاثر حوالي تلك الجداول وتتغذى على هذه الحشائش وبعض الطحالب التي تنمو في الجداول.
