كما يوجد هناك امر اخر لا يكون للكاتب في العادة فيه سيطرة او حتى اختيار. هذا الامر هو إمكانية ان تأتي للكاتب مجموعة أفكار تصلح لأكثر من كتاب، وفي هذه الحالة يمكن ان يكون الكاتب منشغلا بتأليف اكثر من كتاب في نفس الوقت. وهنا يأتي قدرة الكاتب على حسن استخدام الوقت وإدارته
