تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على تأثير الحماية البريطانية (1914-1922) على الضرائب في مصر في تلك الفترة الدقيقة من الوجود البريطاني في مصر، من خلال ما تناولته الوثائق التاريخية في هذه الفترة وتناولها للحالة الإقتصادية والمالية، وما يمكن قراءته من خلال هذه الوثائق بالملاحظة والتحليل والنقد.
وتتناول الدراسة تحليل المصادر التاريخية المتعلقة بالتشريعات وقوانين الضرائب وكيفية تقدير الضرائب والهدف من فرض هذه الضرائب وأيضا دراسة موقف القوي الوطنية من فرض الضرائب وذلك من خلال رؤية تاريخية لتلك المصادر للاجابة على تساؤل مهم وهو هل كانت هناك عدالة اجتماعية في فرض الضرائب؟.
وتحاول الدراسة تحليل الأرقام الخاصة بأهم الإيرادات السيادية المصرية وهي الضرائب والبحث في الضرائب المباشرة بأنواعها من ضرائب الأطيان والضرائب العقارية وغيرها من الضرائب المباشرة.
وكذلك تسعى الدراسة الى التعرف على الضرائب الغير مباشرة وبخاصة ضرائب الجمارك وتنظيمها وتأثيرها على تطور مالية البلاد في تلك الفترة وذلك من خلال قراءة في الموزانات التي أصدرتها الحكومة وتحليل الموازنات للتعرف على أهم تلك الضرائب سواء المباشرة أو غير المباشرة.
كما تتناول الدراسة كيفية تحصيل الضرائب والموظفين المختصين بجباية الضرائب وتتعرض الدراسة أيضا لتحديد الأثر الاقتصادي والإجتماعي لفرض الضرائب كما تتناول الدراسة مشكلة التهرب الضريبي وكيفية مواجهة الدولة لهذه المشكلة.

The study aims to identify the impact of British protection (1914-1922) on taxes in Egypt at that precise period of British presence in Egypt, through what you had in this period, historical documents and addressed to the economic and financial situation, and what can be read through the documentation and analysis and critique. Study and analysis of historical sources regarding legislation and tax laws and how to estimate taxes and the goal of imposing such taxes and also study the position of the national forces of taxation through a historical perspective for those sources to answer an important question is whether there were social justice in taxation. The study tries to analyze the figures for most revenue are taxes and Egyptian sovereign research at direct taxation of all types of muds and taxes property taxes and other direct taxes. As well as study seeks to identify indirect taxes especially customs taxes and regulation and its impact on the country's financial development in the period and read it through in almosanat analysis of government budgets to identify the most important taxes, whether direct or indirect. The study also addresses how to collect taxes and tax officials also are to determine the economic and social impact of taxation as the study addresses the problem of tax evasion and how to cope with the State of the problem.
