ترتكز مفاهيم التثقيف الصحي على استخدامها النظريات السلوكية والتربوية والاجتماعية ومبادىء الإعلام والتعليم والاتصال للنهوض بالصحة وتحسين نوعية الحياة والتمتع بصحة جيدة والذي من شأنه ان يمكن الافـراد من تنمية قدراتهم البدنية والذهنية إلى اقصى حد. ويسمح لهم بان يعيشوا حياة منتجة اجتماعيا واقتصاديا وفي انسجام مع بيئتهم (مصدر سابق، 2012).

Health education concepts are based on the use of behavioral, educational and social theories and principles of information, education and communication to promote health and improve the quality of life and good health, which would enable individuals to develop physical and mental abilities to the maximum.
