تعتبر المشاركة في القوى العاملة مؤشرا اساسيا لمدى نشاط سوق العمل وفاعليته في توفير فرص العمل. فتصل نسبة مشاركة الذكور في سوق العمل (وفق تقديرات جهاز الاحصاء الفلسطيني لعام 2014) 71.5% بينما تتدني مشاركة النساء في القوى العاملة لتصل الى 19.4%.
