قيد المواطنين بسجلات البعثة يعتبر من الأمور الهامة بالنسبة للمواطن والبعثة على حد سواء، ومن أهميته للمواطن أن البعثة تحتفظ بصورة من جواز سفره عند اجراء القيد، وصور أى شهادات أو بطاقات هامة تكون متوفرة لديه كشهادة الميلاد والبطاقة الشخصية أو العائلية ومستند التجنيد وغيرها، الأمر الذى يسهل حصوله على جواز سفر بدل فاقد فى حالة فقده أو سرقته أو حصوله على صور مستخرجات رسمية، كما يسهل للبعثة الاتصال به لأى ظرف كان مثل استفسار أسرته عنه، أوالرجوع الى أسرته أو أقرب اقاربه فى مصر فى حالة أى ظروف يتعرض لها .

هذا بالاضافة الى أن قيد المواطنين بسجلات البعثة يسهل ربطهم بأنشطة البعثة التى تتم من أجلهم، مما يقوى رباطهم بوطنهم الأم مصر لذا كان على كل مواطن له صفة الاقامة الدائمة، أو شبه الدائمة فى دائرة اختصاص البعثة اخطارها بوجوده، وتزويدها بالبيانات الخاصة عن نفسه وعن عائلته، حيث تقوم كل قنصلية بقيد المواطنين المصريين المقيمين في دائرة اختصاصها فقط.

اجراءات قيد المواطن :

يمكن أن يتم القيد بحضور المواطن الى القسم القنصلى أو بالمراسلة بالبريد، والمستندات المطلوبة لهذا الغرض هى :-

– جواز السفر ( وجوازات سفر أفراد الأسرة ان وجدت ) ، وما يتوفر لديه من شهادات ميلاد ومستند التجنيد وبطاقات شخصية أو عائلية وذلك للاحتفاظ بصورة منها بملف المواطن.

– صورة شخصية للمواطن . القيد مجانا هذا مع ملاحظة أن البعثة لاتربط بين قيد المواطن فى السجلات وأداء الخدمات القنصلية الأخرى له، حيث يتم الاستجابة لطلبات المواطن لأداء الخدمات القنصلية التى يطلبها بصرف النظر عن قيده أو عدم قيده بسجلات البعثة .
