يدور هذا البحث حول تاريخ ترميم المدرسة الاشرفية الواقعة في مدينة تعز ، الجمهورية اليمنية . والتعريف بها كونها تقدم صورة لظاهرة بناء المدارس التي انتشرت في اليمن خلال القرون الثالث عشر وحتى الخامس عشر الميلادي ، حين كانت اليمن تحت حكم الدولة الرسولية ، التي كان لها الفضل الكبير في نشر المدارس على اوسع نطاق في مناطق حكمها . 
ويعتبر جامع ومدرسة الاشرفية نموذج للمدرسة المتكاملة بمعناها الاوسع كمجمع علمي من الناحية النظرية للوظيفة ، فقد ضمنت عبر التاريخ اكثر من مستوى دراسي . 
ومن الناحية المعمارية يعتبر الجامع محققا لكافة الاهداف التصميمية من خلال توزيع الفراغات وتقسيم تلك الوظائف ادى الى ظهور تصميم معماري متكامل و مترابط ، وايضا من النواحي الفنية والزخرفية وتوظيفها . 
واهم ما يستخلصه البحث هو دراسة الوضع الراهن ومدى تواؤم البناء مع البيئة المحيطة ، الذي جعلها تعيش لاكثر من ستمائة سنة ، لا تزال حتى اليوم شاخصة بأبرز معالمها ، بالرغم من العوامل المسببة للخراب .
متناولا اساليب الحفاظ والترميم بمراحلها المختلفة التي ساهمت ببقائها ، 
وتنتهي الدراسة بتقييم لعمليات الحفاظ و الترميم السابقة و وضع اقتراحات وتوصيات للحفاظ على المبنى باعتباره تراثاً معماريا يجب المحافظة عليه .

This research on the history of restoration school Ashrafieh in Taiz, Yemen. And being offered a picture of the phenomenon of building schools in Yemen and 13th centuries until the 15th century, while Yemen under the rule of the Apostolic State, which had the great merit in spreading widely in school districts.
