وألقى صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير مشعل بن ماجد بن عبدالعزيز كلمة شكر فيها سمو أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة على رعايته هذه المناسبة الثقافية الكبرى بافتتاح معرض جدة الدولي للكتاب بمشاركة وزارة الثقافة والإعلام وغرفة جدة ودور النشر المحلية والعالمية في هذه المدينة العريقة التي لها مكانة مرموقة لموروثها الحضاري والثقافي، وأكد سموه أن افتتاح هذا المعرض يترجم على أرض الواقع التوجيهات السديدة من القيادة الرشيدة ـ أيدها الله ـ لنشر ثقافة العلم والمعرفة والآداب والفنون باعتبارها من أهم مقومات حياتنا الاجتماعية والثقافية وتعزيز روح الانتماء للوطن الغالي مع ترسيخ التواصل الإنساني من خلال الكتاب كوسيلة مثلى لدعم حوار الحضارات والثقافات في هذا العالم.
