وتزخر إمارة الشارقة بتنوع جغرافي طبيعي ممتد ما بين ساحل الخليج العربي وخليج عمان وجبال المنطقة الشرقية وسهولها وسواحلها، وغيرها من المقومات السياحية الطبيعية، جعلت منها واحدة من أفضل مواقع المنطقة السياحية، كما أهلها لتكون أرضا خصبة ومتميزة لإقامة المشاريع السياحية والاستثمارية، ولذلك تعمل هيئة البيئة والمحميات الطبيعية بالتعاون مع شركة شروق على ثلاث مراحل للمشروع، وستتضمن المرحلة الأولى قسم المحميات، حيث ستتم إعادة تأهيل المحميات الطبيعية في مدينة كلباء ومنها محمية الحفية والقرم ضمن منطقة المشروع.
