خلال تقديمه ورقة عمل في الجلسة الخامسة من منتدى جدة للموارد البشرية 2015، بعنوان "العمل عن بعد والعمل الجزئي" تحدث الدكتور عبدالله بن شاكر آل غالب الشريف أمين عام غرفة مكة المكرمة للتجارة والصناعة عن توجه الغرفة لدعم "العمل عن بعد" وعزمها إنشاء مركز متخصص لـ"توطين الوظائف والعمل عن بعد"، يعنى بتوظيف المتدربين، بما يخدم سوق العمل من ناحية، والشباب والشابات الباحثين عن الأعمال من ناحية أخرى. وأشار آل غالب، إلى تحقيق الغرفة -مستعينة بخبرات متخصصين في التخطيط العلمي والأكاديمي - خطوات متقدمة في مجال إيجاد بيئة مناسبة لعمل السيدات من منازلهن بما يتسق والقوانين والأنظمة.
