قال رئيس ديوان الموظفين العام موسى أبو زيد ان عدد الموظفين في الحكومة الفلسطينية بلغ 90562 موظفًا، وأن عدد المتقاعدين سنويًا ما بين 1500 - 1600. بينما يتم توظيف 3000 موظفاً جديداً سنويًا. وأضاف أن الوظائف الحكومية تتم على أساس الكفاءة والمنافسة نافيًا أن تكون بناءً على الانتماءات الحزبية.
وأشار إلى أن القانون الفلسطيني أجاز للموظف الحكومي أن يحصل على مزاولة عمل لمدة 9 ساعات اسبوعيًا بشرط عدم تضاربها مع ساعات عمله في الدوام الرسمي.
