ورصد معالي وزير العمل خمسة توجهات إستراتيجية جديدة تم تطويرها لإدارة السوق تضمنت فرص العمل المستدامة، وتطوير المهارات، العمالة السعودية والوافدة، وسوق العمل الفعال، والحماية الاجتماعية، مشيراً إلى أن التوجهات الإستراتيجية حملت في مضامينها ضرورة تعظيم حصة التوطين من فرص العمل المنتجة والمجزية في القطاع الخاص، وتطوير مهارات القوى الوطنية، فضلاً عن إدارة الاختلالات الهيكلية بين العمالة السعودية والوافدة، وكذلك توفير آليات أساسية لسوق عمل فعال ومزدهر، هذا بخلاف الاعتناء بالعاملين وأسرهم من خلال الحماية الاجتماعية.
