تحدث هشام بن محمد كعكي رئيس اللجنة، عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة مكة المكرمة للتجارة والصناعة قائلا: "إن هذه اللجنة هي الأولى من نوعها منذ إنشاء غرفة مكة المكرمة قبل نحو 69 عاما"، ولفت إلى أن الجهات الأساسية التي ترخص للفعاليات والمعارض والمؤتمرات في المملكة تتمثل في البرنامج الوطني للمعراض والمؤتمرات، ثم الوزير المختص أو رئيس الجهة المستقلة، فوزارة الداخلية من خلال إمارات المناطق أو مجلس التنمية السياحي أو وزارة الخارجية أو أمانات المناطق.
