وأكد الشعيبي أن مواجهة الأزمة المالية يقتضي مساهمة المجتمع المدني وكافة الهيئات الرسمية والشعبية للاتفاق على خطة وطنية للتقشف والترشيد، لأن الحكومة لوحدها لا تستطيع القيام بهذه المهمة الوطنية لوحدها. وأشار الى ان على الحكومة أن تدرس خيارات جدية للتقشف بخفض النفقات غير الضرورية وتخفيض الإمتيازات التي تمنح لكبار الموظفين، إضافة إلى الترشيد بإعادة ترتيب الأوليات واستخدام فعال للموارد المتاحة. وأشار الى ان هناك مقترحات محددة بهذا الخصوص ستتقدم بها أمان الى الحكومة بعد الانتهاء من المشاورات بخصوصها مع الفريق الأهلي لشفافية الموازنة والمجتمع المدني خلال الايام القادمة.
