شهدت المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية خلال السنوات الماضية تزايد عدد السكان حيث تضاعف عدد سكان المملكة أكثر من 10 مرات خلال 55 عاما، وكانت الزيادة الأكبر خلال العقد الماضي وخاصة منذ عام 2011، نتيجة للأحداث السياسية في المنطقة وما انبثق عنها من أزمات، وبشكل خاص اللجوء السوري وما نتج عنه من ارتفاع أسعار المساكن والايجارات، وزيادة الحاجة لتغطية الأعباء الاجتماعية والاقتصادية على الموازنة العامة للدولة.

The Hashemite Kingdom has witnessed during the past years increasing population doubling population more than 10 times in 55 years, the largest increase in the past decade, particularly since 2011, due to political events in the region and its crises, particularly Syrian asylum and consequent high housing prices and rents, increasing the need to cover the social and economic burden on the State budget.
