في سوريا يقتصر مفهوم العنف الجنسي على اغتصاب امرأة من شخص غريب وذلك يعود للقانون السوري الذي عرفه بهذه الطريقة الا ان انواع العنف الجنسي في سوريا يأخذ عدة أشكال، أهمها بالوقت الراهن الذي يحدث من قبل القوات العسكرية المسلحة من قبل كافة الاطراف الموجودة ضمن مقرات الاحتجاز او الاعتقال، أوأثناء المداهمات وأيضا على الحواجز ونقاط التفتيش.

In Syria the concept of sexual violence is limited to the rape of a woman by a stranger because of Syrian law, defined in this way only the types of sexual violence in Syria takes several forms, the most important moment that occurs by armed military forces of all parties within the premises of detention or arrest, awathnaa raids and also barriers and checkpoints.
