إلى الشمال من عمان تقع مدينة جرش، التي يشار إليها أحيانا باسم بومبي الشرق. جرش كانت جزءًا من حلف الديكابولس الروماني، وإحدى مدنه العشر. تعد إحدى أفضل المدن الرومانية المحفوظة خارج إيطاليا. فشوارعها المرصوفة، وحماماتها، ومسارحها، وساحاتها، وأقواسها لا تزال قائمة كما كانت منذ آلاف السنين، ولم يتغير فيها الكثير.

To the North of the city of Jerash Oman, sometimes referred to as Pompeii. Jerash was part of the Roman decapolis, and one of the ten cities. One of the best preserved Roman cities outside of Italy. The cobbled, baths, theaters and arenas, underneath its still exist as they were thousands of years ago, which has changed a lot.
