منذ منتصف السبعينيات أخذت الأسئلة البرلمانية المتعقلة بالمسيحيين تصبح أكثر إلحاحاً وشهدت قاعة عبدالله السالم أسئلة في مواضيع مختلفة مثل وجود نشاط تبشيري وأسئلة حول الكنائس القائمة حالياً وكان من أبرز الأسئلة ما يلي: في 26 يناير 1970، وجه عضو مجلس الأمة سليمان الذويخ سؤالاً برلمانياً عبر رئيس المجلس إلى وزير الدولة لشؤون مجلس الوزراء حول إقامة الشعائر الكنسية وتماثيلها الخاصة بها داخل الكنائس. وجاء نص السؤال كما يلي: نما إلى علمي أن الاتفاق بين الحكومة وممثلي الكنائس عند تأسيسها كان على أساس أن تبقى الشعائر الكنسية وتماثيلها داخل مبنى الكنيسة وليس في فنائها لكن في الآونة الأخيرة أقيم بعض منها في الفناء، وهذا يناقض الاتفاق
