تهدف الدراسة إلى استثمار خبرات وتجارب المرأة المتقاعدة، باعتبارها رأس مال اجتماعي حيث تعتبر فرصة لاكتشاف الذات وبداية حياة جديدة، كما يعد التقاعد واحد من أهم مراحل حياة المرأة حيث يترتب عليه ظهور العديد من المشكلات الاجتماعية والنفسية نتيجة الإحساس بالعزلة والتهميش ويصبح من الضروري إعادة تنظيم الحياة وفقاً لهذا التغيير.وعند النظر إلى المجتمعات المتقدمة نجد أنهم يتعاملون مع المتقاعدين من زاوية أخرى وهي كيفية الاستفادة من كفاءتهم وخبراتهم ومهاراتهم حيث تستخدم كمرجع أساسي وتعتبرهم ثروة لايستهان بها.لاسيما وان الكثير من المتقاعدات يتميزن بطاقات وخبرات عديدة بانتظار الفرصة لإشراكهن في التنمية مع الأجيال الجديدة، ولكن للأسف يتم تجاهل هذه القوة البشرية ولا يستفاد من طاقاتهن الإبداعية في جميع المجالات.وعلية لابد من الالتفات لهذه الفئة باعتبارها ثروة وطنية لايستهان بها لدفع عجلة التنمية.
