عندما عرض دور العراب على مارلون براندو رفض بصرامة وقام بإلقاء الرواية ارضا قائلا " أبدأ لن ألعب دورا يمجد المافيا"
وعندما تم إقناعه وبعد ان عُرض الفيلم وحاز على إعجاب الجميع، كان براندو كلما زار ايطاليا لا يدفع سنتاً لأن المافيا كانت تتكفل بكل المصاريف
